A Christmas Tabernacle

Published

The spirit of Christmas will come alive with A Christmas Tabernacle, a family-friendly celebration taking place December 16-18 at NTC Promenade at Liberty Station. Highlights include 100+ specialty-goods vendors, a living nativity scene, Santa’s Village with live reindeer and a sledding snow hill, a themed Christmas tree area with uniquely decorated trees, and a fun zone. The community stage will showcase daytime acts featuring local church choirs, Christmas-themed plays and skits, story readings, magicians, and more. Each night the main stage will host a headliner act including The Nutcracker performed by the San Diego Ballet. Philanthropic opportunities will be offered in Santa’s Workshop, where families can buy a toy kit, make the items with their own hands, and turn them in to be donated as gifts to needy families throughout San Diego. Del Mar resident Jamie Sutton, creator of A Christmas Tabernacle, notes that the festival “will provide hours of fun-filled moments for all attendees and all in one place. Parents and kids alike will have plenty to do, see, and enjoy.” Admission ranges from $12-$18, with multi-day passes also available. (619/754-9508, www.achristmastabernacle.com)    JANE SHIOMI
