7th Annual Innovation Night

On Wednesday, November 12, La Jolla Playhouse presents its seventh annual Innovation Night, a premiere networking event that brings together leaders from San Diego’s bio-tech, high-tech, and associated industries for an extraordinary evening of theatre at La Jolla Playhouse. The event will begin with a pre-show reception at 5pm, followed by a 7:30pm performance of LJP’s thrilling, U.S. premiere of the musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and featuring the lush, Oscar-nominated score from the 1996 Disney animated classic, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is the only stage collaboration from two masters of the American musical theatre — composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Librettist Peter Parnell crafts a bold, highly-theatrical take on the classic tale of the scorned bell-ringer Quasimodo, the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, and the dashing Captain Phoebus in 15th century Paris.
