Art of Fashion 2019
Posted on September 3, 2019
In decidedly one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year, The Country Friends’ annual Art of Fashion runway show and luncheon puts some of the world’s most coveted designers on the catwalk at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. The organization’s 15-year partnership with South Coast Plaza features premium names found at the shopping destination in a glamorous show that’s become an unofficial kickoff to fall fashion in the Ranch. Taking place on September 12, Art of Fashion 2019 is co-chaired by Elaine Kaminski Becerra and Erika Fetter, with television news veteran Sandra Maas serving as mistress of ceremonies. Ranch & Coast Magazine’s own Andrea Naversen, a longtime board member of The Country Friends and previous Art of Fashion chairperson, is the event’s honoree. Here, in the beautiful setting of Solana Beach’s EC Gallery, art mimics life as we showcase looks from a handful of this year’s participating designers: Bally, Camilla, Escada, Max Mara, and Stella McCartney. Exclusive Collections Gallery operates on the premise that art is discovery for everyone. Founder Ruth-Ann Thorn has been leading unknown artists to international acclaim since 1995, when she opened her first art gallery with her mother, Gloria Lee, in La Jolla. At her EC Gallery location in Solana Beach’s Cedros Design District, Thorn continues to feature fine art collections from not only internationally acclaimed artists such as Henry Asencio, Christopher M., and Michael Summers, but also from renowned artists Michael Flohr, Paul Lotz, Oryan, as well as Lee and daughter Bella Thorn.
