St. Germaine Children’s Charity presented its Cocktails & Conversation event at a private home in La Jolla to raise awareness about child abuse and the additional impacts on the foster care system due to COVID-19. Since 1984, St. Germaine has provided financial and in-kind support to San Diego County’s abused and neglected children through grants to local nonprofits. At the event, Walden Family Services’ Directory of Philanthropy Kathryn Stevens and CEO Teresa Stivers spoke about the important role groups like St. Germaine play in assisting them in their mission. Melissa Villagomez, Walden Development Manager, shared her personal story regarding her experience as a foster youth and how important programs such as Walden Family Services were in her life.
