Girl Scouts San Diego honored exemplary women whose personal and professional lives make them outstanding role models for girls. During the 2024 luncheon and ceremony, five Cool Women shared the spotlight with 50 Emerging Leader Girl Scouts in grades 10-12 who are recognized for their achievements and commitment to leadership. This year’s celebration honored Suzie Alarcón, co-founder of AUGenomics and Director of the Next Generation Sequencing Core at La Jolla Institute for Immunology; Kim Folsom, founder and CEO of Founders First Capital Partners; Martha Gilmer, CEO of San Diego Symphony Orchestra; Pamela Gray Payton, Vice President, Chief Impact and Partnerships Officer, San Diego Foundation; and Hon. Sherry Thompson-Taylor, San Diego Superior Court judge. Co-chairs were Barbara Bry and Divya Kakaiya, PhD, MS.
