Art & Empire: The Golden Age
Golden Door welcomed a new art exhibition to The San Diego Museum of Art by hosting an elegant benefit dinner in the museum. The event featured cuisine prepared by Golden Door Executive Chef Greg Frey Jr., themed décor, and musicians. Art and Empire: The Golden Age of Spain, which opens May 18, showcases a diverse selection of art produced during the Golden Age of Spain (about 1550 to 1600), arguably one of the most pivotal and prolific times in art history. The approximately 100 outstanding works to be displayed are from Spain and such far-flung Spanish-controlled areas as Antwerp, Naples, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines.
