Philip Rivers Football Camp For Boys & Girls

San Diego Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers recently held his first football camp for youth at the University of California, San Diego to benefit the Rivers of Hope Foundation. Twenty-five youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito were invited to the camp at no cost. Each camper received an autograph and a picture with Rivers.
“The club members from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito were having such a great time with Philip,” said Keith Padgett president/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. “They never stopped smiling! Rivers is an inspiring athlete and a terrific person, we are very grateful for the experience our children had with him.”
The camp hosted a total of 200 youth and gave children a chance to play football with Rivers as they learned about all aspects and positions of the game. Rivers was interactive, encouraging, energetic, and was having a great time for a great cause.
All proceeds went toward the Rivers of Hope Foundation, which helps abandoned and orphaned children. Rivers announced during the football camp that he would be contributing a $25,000 grant to San Diego’s Angels Foster Family Network.
