Designer Susan Spath designs a new location in the Ranch

Susan Spath, principal interior designer and owner of Solana Beach-based Kern & Company, has opened a new Rancho Santa Fe showroom in the heart of the village, on the corner of La Granada and Paseo Delicias. Showcasing items reflective of Spath’s distinctive brand of luxurious living, the new location is “a jewel box filled with the best in home accessories, high-end furnishings, and luxury décor.” The new   space also houses Susan Spath Interior Design, allowing the accomplished designer to take on larger projects by incorporating architectural planning, bespoke cabinetry, and personalized interior projects.

With her love of reinventing spaces, Spath completely transformed the gallery. She added chevron French oak floors, and adorned white walls with colorful art. The finishing touches came by way of artfully arranged pillows, lamps, candles, and other statement-making decor.

Spath envisions her new location as a destination in the village, where people can pop in for presents and thoughtful hostess gifts. “I wanted to see something positive happen in Rancho Santa Fe from a retail perspective,” says Spath, “to bring some energy and shopping to the village.” A grand opening celebration is slated for Wednesday, November 2, from 5-7pm. 858.756.7560, kerncodesigns.com    MIA S.
