Fashion Week San Diego Crowns Winner

Marcie Bain’s Native American-inspired designs and elegant evening gowns earned her top honors at Fashion Week San Diego 2015, a four-day festival of runway shows and stylish events in La Jolla. Bain, founder of the B.JASH.I label (named after her four children) grew up in Happy Camp, in Northern California, the heart of the Karuk tribe’s ancestral territory. Inspired by her heritage and love of the outdoors, Bain went on to design wearable art pieces. Besides her fashion label, she also founded Native Steel, a line of athletic apparel for men and women. Bain’s prize package includes a magazine spread, a La Valencia Hotel stay, and a month-long pop-up shop at La Plaza La Jolla. Oh, and did we mention, bragging rights?
