FAB Space

Published

PreFAB, a stylish venue for pop-up boutiques, art exhibitions, meetings, and seminars, has just opened in The Headquarters at Seaport District, the new shopping and dining complex near the downtown waterfront. The former San Diego PD lockup is now a high-end open-air center with specialty shops like LA’s trendy Kitson, the Urban Beach House, and Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery. Restaurants include Puesto, Pizzeria Mozza, and the soon-to-open Eddie V’s. Adding to the mix is PreFAB, a light-filled second story space that once housed a courtroom and crime lab. Entrepreneur Brian Hawkins has reinvented it as a place where the community can collaborate and create, connect and celebrate. Book a meeting or event there, or apply for a co-working space. Hawkins’s aim is to “breathe new life into San Diego’s creative scene.” (619.300.4221, www.prefabsd.com   ANDREA NAVERSEN
