A Shop With A Cause

Published

For many, The Country Friends is likely best known as the organization that puts on the annual premier fashion runway show at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe. But The Country Friends also owns and operates a consignment shop in the Ranch to raise funds to accomplish its mission of supporting human care agencies with emphasis on those providing services to women, children, and the elderly. The shop is entirely staffed by volunteers and is laden with treasures of silver, crystal, objets d’art, china, and furniture (classic and traditional) received from estates and individuals. Since its inception in 1954, The Country Friends has raised more than $12 million to support human care agencies throughout San Diego County. Beneficiaries have included Rady Children’s Heart Institute, Helen Woodward Animal Center’s therapeutic riding program, Promises2Kids, the Burn Institute, and countless others.
