Evans Hotels, the San Diego-based hospitality company comprised of The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, the Bahia Resort Hotel, and Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, has announced that The Lodge will help host the PGA TOUR’s 2025 Genesis Invitational, scheduled to be played at the Torrey Pines Golf Course on February 10-16. Out of respect for the unfolding situation in the Los Angeles wildfire disaster areas, as well as the safety and wellbeing of those affected, the tournament chose to relocate from The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades to Torrey Pines.

Located just two and a half hours south of Los Angeles, Torrey Pines provides an ideal venue with world-class facilities that were recently used at the Farmers Insurance Open. The Lodge at Torrey Pines will serve as the hub for tournament operations, offering accommodations for players and officials, as well as facilities for locker rooms, scoring, and other essential needs.

“As a company rooted in hospitality and care, we are proud to provide safe accommodations and a welcoming space during such challenging times,” said Robert Gleason, President and CEO of Evans Hotels. “Equally, we’re thrilled to bring the Genesis Invitational to San Diego, offering fans and players an opportunity to create joyful memories and support a region recovering from disaster.”

As the host venue, the Torrey Pines Golf Course and The Lodge at Torrey Pines will be significantly impacted by the tournament’s operations. This will include enhanced security measures and restricted access to the Lodge’s public spaces, including restaurants (The Grill at Torrey Pines), lounges, The Spa at Torrey Pines, parking, and many of its guest amenities. The Lodge will no longer offer its Romance Package or the Valentine’s Day dinner at The Grill at Torrey Pines during the tournament dates.

Helping host the Genesis Invitational was one of the most impactful and immediate ways for San Diego and Evans Hotels to assist Los Angeles in a time of need. The Lodge and Evans Hotels fully support Visit California’s recently launched “We Love LA” recovery campaign which aims to remind travelers of Los Angeles’ readiness to welcome visitors. Visitor spending provides critical support for thousands of workers and businesses throughout Southern California.

“Los Angeles and San Diego are open for business. Traveling to the region is safe and a meaningful way to support recovery and ongoing relief efforts,” said Gleason. “Although devastating for those affected, the brush fires in Southern California have left the region’s attractions, hotels and resorts largely untouched and accessible to visitors. There’s no better way to help with the recovery than to plan a trip here.”

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, along with its sister properties the Bahia and Catamaran resorts and dozens of other San Diego hotels, have rallied together to support those affected by the L.A. wildfires with special accommodation rates and offers. Evans Hotels takes to heart the crucial importance of tourism now more than ever and welcomes visitors not only to the Genesis Invitational, but from around the world with open arms.
