The Sarah O’Connor Art Gallery in Del Mar will host a grand opening reception on November 1 from 4 to 6pm featuring ocean-inspired paintings, live art demonstrations, and refreshments. Located at 1049 Camino Del Mar, Suite E, the working studio and exhibition space fittingly overlooks the ocean in the heart of Del Mar. “On most days for the past 20 years, you might have met me at the ocean — surfing, doing yoga on the cliff, painting, walking, or partaking in whatever the ocean has to offer off the San Diego coast,” says O’Connor. “After 40 years of oil painting, it’s my vision to bring together the community through live art creation, curated receptions, and a uniquely Southern California art space.” With her studio, O’Connor aims to create a space that celebrates creativity, community, and the restorative power of the sea.

The Barn Redefined, formerly Poway Countryside Barn, is getting ready to usher in the holiday season with its beloved Christmas at the Barn shopping event — this year reimagined as a festive “pop-up” in Ramona. Running for six consecutive weekends from November 1 through December 7 at Ramona Town Hall, the event will celebrate “25 Days of Christmas at the Barn” with the theme “Winter Wonderland & Small Town Christmas.” Guests can explore 26 themed trees as well as a Christmas Market held each Saturday across the way at The Grange Lot featuring crafts, gifts, food, and live music. The event also includes a gift-wrapping station, photo opportunities, and a special fundraiser for Ramona Town Hall’s new roof through raffles and donations.

On November 13, Juniper & Ivy will team up with Cayuse Vineyards for a rare wine dinner led by head winemaker Christophe Baron. This intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experience features highly allocated wines rarely showcased at dinners. Seating is extremely limited; tickets are $300 per person. Reservations required via OpenTable.
Join the Del Mar Village Association on November 14 in cheering on more than 2,000 walkers as the San Diego Susan G. Komen 3-Day kicks off in Del Mar. Community members, local businesses, and cheerleaders will line Camino Del Mar to send participants off in a wave of pink balloons, ribbons, and support. Dress in pink and join the fun south of 15th Street between 7:30 and 9am.
