The Talk of the Town
The Athenaeum will honor the exuberant art scene of the 1920s at the organization’s first fundraising event since 2019.
The occasion will celebrate the Athenaeum’s past and bright future at the historic William Templeton Johnson building in downtown La Jolla that opened in 1921. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest 1920s attire to enjoy indulgences complete with jazz music, a live art demonstration by Andrew Alcasid, a photo opportunity with a vintage car, 1920s dance demonstration, and a silent auction. The next day, a free open house takes place from 10am-5:30pm.
