The Tea 3 Foundation will host its 2021 Summer of Love evening fundraising gala featuring entertainment by The Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band.

Proceeds from this innovative outdoor event will benefit Shelter to Soldier, a local nonprofit organization that brings post-9/11 combat veterans together with trained rescue dogs to help both recover and move forward. The trained rescue dogs help these combat veterans work through PTS (post-traumatic stress) and/or TBI (traumatic brain injury)while they find their forever home.Training a psychiatric service dog for veterans suffering from invisible wounds costs the program $15,000 and takes an average of 12 to 18 months.A shorter Emotional Support Dog (ESA) training program, costing $5,000, relieves loneliness to offer comfort to veterans recommended an ESA, rather than a psychiatric service dogs recommended by a mental health care professional.“We are honored to support Shelter to Soldier and show our appreciation to the sacrifice of our veterans and the love of our pets,” says Sandra den Ujil, Tea 3 Foundation president and founder.

“These programs are lengthy and costly. Our goal is to fund at least two psychiatric service dog and two emotional support dog projects,” she adds. “We feel so honored to have the support of Tea3 Foundation this year. These funds make a huge impact in the lives of shelter dogs and veterans served by our program, and we know that the fundraising effort from this event will not only provide several veterans the love and companionship of a specially trained service dog or ESA, but will raise awareness for veterans’ mental health and provide hope to many who are struggling,” says Kyrié Bloem, co-founder and vice president of Shelter to Soldier.

The event takes place outdoors with COVID-compliant seating. The gala committee includes Gilda Adler, Susan Bacar, Sandra denUjil, Sandra Dicicco, Charo Garcia-Acevedo, Pooneh Hamzei, Deana Ingalls, Gina Jordan, Susan Lane-Leonard, Esther Rodriguez, and Niki Tesak.
