Soroptimist Clubs’ “Dreams of Italy” Virtual Fundraiser

Soroptimist International of La Jolla and Soroptimist International of Mission Valley present their annual recognition of “Live Your Dream” (LYD) recipients.

Diana Hill and Gaylyn Boone, past SILJ presidents and event co-chairs, state, “We are so happy to have our friends and supporters meet the inspiring women our Live Your Dream program supports in this virtual format. The two organizations have 12 recipients this year some of whom will share their stories and how their LYD grant supports their educational plans.” Soroptimist International’s mission is to improve the lives of women and girls by providing access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Proceeds from the event are invested in the dreams of women. Specifically, Live Your Dream gives grants to women who are single heads of household attending college while raising a family. Fundraising includes opportunity drawing tickets for a variety of door prizes, themed packages and items valued from $25 to $975 offered via online bidding, and a “fund a need” virtual paddle raise. The event will include a live wine tasting led by Stefano Poggi, CSW; Certified Italian Wine Specialist (with distinction), North American Sommelier Association, and Italian Brand Ambassador Western & Central U.S.
