The San Diego Symphony’s highly anticipated 2025 Fall Gala, entitled “A Night in Spain,” will feature a festive dinner, captivating concert by the San Diego Symphony and Spanish guest artists, and lively after-party at the inimitable bayside venue.

This year’s gala will be held in honor of Irwin Jacobs and is co-chaired by Arlene Inch and Jerri-Ann and Gary Jacobs. Attendees will enjoy a full evening of celebration beginning at 5pm with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner service, concert, and after-party with San Diego Symphony Orchestra musicians. The evening’s program celebrates the music of Spain under the direction of the San Diego Symphony Music Director Rafael Payare. It opens with Emmanuel Chabrier’s “España,” a vibrant musical tour of Spanish folk melodies and dances. For the remaining works, the orchestra will be joined by acclaimed Spanish guest artists. Pianist Javier Perianes — praised by Hamburger Abendblatt for his “keen sense of the atmospheres and pictorial characters of the music” — will perform as soloist in Manuel de Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain.” Vocalist Marina Heredia, one of the world’s foremost interpreters of Falla’s “El amor brujo,” will bring her powerful, vivid storytelling to the composer’s earthy reflections on the power of love. Gala proceeds support the San Diego Symphony’s artistic and education initiatives that enrich the lives of audiences across the region.
