San Diego Symphony Gala
The San Diego Symphony 2022 gala will take place on the Symphony’s opening night of its 2022-2023 Jacobs Masterworks Season, when the orchestra will perform Verdi’s masterful Requiem, conducted by Music Director Rafael Payare and featuring the San Diego Master Chorale alongside world-renowned opera singers Leah Crocetto, Jennifer Johnson Cano, Limmie Pulliam, and Aleksey Bogdanov.
The theme for the evening is inspired by the birthplace of Verdi, Le Roncole, with accents of Italian sophistication and decadence. At 5:30pm, gala guests will be welcomed with a cocktail reception in the side-stage donor lounges for mingling prior to the concert. Following the performance, an elaborately curated menu of Italian delights will be served for the official gala dinner, held on The Rady Shell’s upper lawn terrace and prepared by celebrity chef Richard Blais’ talented team. Gala co-chairs are Una Davis and Jack McGrory, Colette and Ivor Royston, and Karen and Kit Sickels, with Joan and Irwin Jacobs named honorary chairs.
