Palm Springs’ Modernism Week
Fans of Mid-Century architecture will want to mark their calendars for one of Palm Springs’ premier annual events. Modernism Week celebrates the iconic architecture style that’s become a signature of this desert oasis.
In-person activities will include more than 20 tours and events, including two featured designer homes that will be open for socially-distanced tours. In addition, there will be walking tours and scheduled visits to landmark properties including Frank Sinatra’s former home, as well as the Lautner Compound, three masterfully-restored homes designed by American architect John Lautner in 1947. Another highlight: guided tours of the extensive grounds of Sunnylands, the former winter home of Walter and Leonore Annenberg.
Ticket holders will also have the option to enjoy narrated self-driven tours of Palm Springs’ architectural highlights and self-guided neighborhood tours of modern landscaping in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Indian Wells. Other events include fashion shows, vintage car exhibitions, and tours of architecturally significant private homes in Desert Palisades.
