At the 78th annual Jewel Ball, “Meet Me in Marrakesh,” guests will be transported into the lush and opulent garden of a Moroccan riad.

“In recent years, the need in our nonprofit community has grown exponentially,” says Las Patronas President Julie Garrie. “We are so tremendously grateful for the support we have received this year to enable us to continue to fund our beneficiaries’ crucial needs.” Since its inception in 1946, Las Patronas has donated nearly $27 million to more than 1,000 charitable institutions in San Diego. The funds distributed to these organizations are generated through yearlong fundraising efforts and the annual presentation of the Jewel Ball. The 2024 major beneficiaries each receiving a grant of more than $50,000 to fund a critically needed capital item are: Adapt Functional Movement Center, Center for Community Solutions, Guide Dogs of America, KPBS, Urban Street Angels, Inc., and Zoological Society of San Diego.
