Postponed: Hands Across Borders Gala

San Diego Marriott La Jolla
Benefits PCI Global

Project Concern International’s annual Hands Across Borders gala will celebrate 60 years of impact in the U.S. and around the world. The evening will mark the first event for the organization under its new name, Global Communities.

At the gala, philanthropic and corporate leaders will be honored for their generous work both locally and globally. San Diego residents Norm Hapke and Valerie Jacobs Hapke, who have partnered with PCI for more than two decades, are this year’s Humanitarian Legacy Award honorees. Artist and philanthropist Eric Sanders will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award. Sanders has combined his passions for art and philanthropy by donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of his paintings to organizations like PCI and Global Communities.

The Corporate Leadership Award will be presented to UBS and the UBS Optimus Foundation for their exceptional leadership driving positive social and environmental change to build brighter futures for our children. The event will also include PCI’s Signature Mercado, an online auction, and a live performance by Rebecca Jade, the 2020 San Diego Music Awards’ Artist of the Year.
