Celebration of Second Chances

NBC 7 Meteorologist Sheena Parveen will guide animal lovers through a “totally tubular” celebration in support of Rancho Coastal Humane Society at the nonprofit’s gala, this year titled “Bark to the Future.”

At the event’s entrance, guests will pass a DeLorean similar to the car Doc Brown drove in Back to the Future, and the party kicks into high gear inside with two artists creating caricatures of people and their pets. There will be a 1980s-style video arcade and outdoor lawn games. As guests enjoy music from a live band and a DJ spinning stacks of wax and classic hits, they will have an opportunity to place personal items in a time capsule that will be opened at a future Celebration of Second Chances (perhaps at Bark to the Future Part II in 2033?). The event will feature dogs available for adoption early in the evening, with trained dogs from Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Pet Assisted Therapy program joining the festivities later.
