Celebrating Lilian J. Rice
Join the Women’s Museum of California at a benefit reception and luncheon in honor of renowned architect Lilian J. Rice, credited with designing Rancho Santa Fe, one of the first master-planned communities in California.
Keynote speaker is Diane Y. Welch, Rice’s official biographer and author of two books about the architect. The event includes a wine reception and lunch at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, the first building designed by Rice in the 1920s. Attendees will receive a copy of Welch’s book Lilian J. Rice, Architect of Rancho Santa Fe, California. Funds raised will benefit the Women’s Museum of California, now located at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park, dedicated to educating and inspiring present and future generations about the experiences and contributions of diverse women by collecting, preserving, and interpreting their stories.
