ArtWalk @ Liberty Station is back, marking 15 years of the fine arts show which brings visual arts to the historic San Diego community. A symbol of hope, ArtWalk is San Diego’s first art show since March and the first approved exhibition of its kind in an outdoor space.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase artwork from more than 150 local, national, and international artists who have been creating stunning pieces of work during quarantine. “This year we are bringing some much-needed color and art into people’s lives with a brand-new layout to allow for proper physical distancing,” says Sandi Cottrell, director of ArtWalk San Diego.

“As we ring in our 15th year, ArtWalk @ Liberty Station serves as a beacon of light for the art community and will showcase our most diverse range of artists from across all mediums of art, traveling from the U.S., Mexico, and beyond,” adds Cottrell.

This year’s exhibition will also feature an online art guitar auction through November 8 benefiting ArtReach San Diego, a nonprofit organization aimed at increasing equity in visual arts education in K-8 schools throughout San Diego County by delivering free or low-cost workshops to schools that have no other resources for art. More than 30 Fender Eddie Van Halen guitars have been designed by participating artists including world-renowned musician Michael Franti, as well as several well-known San Diego-based artists such as Bronle Crosby, Jeremy Sicile-Kira, Ellen Dieter, Grant Pecoff, Cheryl Sorg, and more.

For the in-person event, numerous health precautions have been put into place in accordance with CDC guidelines and the San Diego Events Coalition, including the requirement of facial coverings and temperature checks for all attendees, artists, volunteers, and participants, as well as frequent cleaning and sanitation of restrooms, hand-sanitizing stations, and more.
