ARCS San Diego Honors Local Nobel Laureate

Each year, ARCS San Diego, a local nonprofit led entirely by women, hosts a Scientist of the Year fundraiser to honor a preeminent local scientist.

This year’s honoree, Ardem Patapoutian, PhD, is a professor of neuroscience at Scripps Research and winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. The event will be streamed live via YouTube from 4-5:15pm PDT. All funds raised at this event will go toward financial awards to support ARCS Scholars who make outstanding contributions to advance science and keep America competitive on the global stage, which is the ARCS mission.

ARCS San Diego has put together an exciting program for its signature event that will highlight 50 Scholars and two Scholar alumni, in addition to Dr. Patapoutian, the 2022 Scientist of the Year. The event is virtual and free, but registration is required.
