A Night for Sight

The Vision of Children Foundation will host its flagship benefit concert, A Night for Sight, featuring legendary rock band Jefferson Starship.
Under the guidance of event co-chairs Marian Benassi, Vivian Hardage, Courtney Liddy, Kirstjen Nielsen, and MJ Wittman, the event will fund innovative research for rare genetic eye conditions and will feature a cocktail reception, silent auction, opportunity drawing, hosted bar, curated three-course dinner, and an eclectic live auction. With a legacy spanning over five decades, Jefferson Starship rose from the roots of Jefferson Airplane to become one of America’s most iconic rock bands, producing multiple platinum albums and Billboard hits like “Miracles, “Find Your Way Back,” and “Jane.” Founded in 1991, The Vision of Children Foundation has been a driving force for research to find cures for rare genetic vision disorders. Founders Sam and Vivian Hardage were pioneers in encouraging scientific inquiry into ocular albinism, a condition for which no treatments or cures were available at the time. Today, VOC funds cutting-edge research, including the When Vision Becomes Reality project led by Karl Wahlin, PhD, at the Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego Health.
