San Diego Chapter of the ARCS virtual celebration of 2020 Scientist of the Year

The San Diego Chapter of the ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Foundation is celebrating 35 years in action. Join members for a virtual celebration of 2020 Scientist of the Year Paul Schimmel, PhD.

Following a tradition of annually honoring a distinguished scientist, ARCS this year will pay tribute to biophysical chemist Schimmel, of Scripps Research. A scientific powerhouse who has been a pioneer in translational medicine, Schimmel holds many patents, is the  author or co-author of 500 scientific research publications, and is co-author of a widely adopted three-volume textbook on the topic of biophysical chemistry. A short video of NASA astronaut Jessica Meir, PhD, who recently returned from the International Space Station where she was part of an all-female spacewalk team, will also be shown. Meir is a member of the national ARCS Alumni Hall of Fame.
