Lux After Dark
Lux After Dark
Apr. 30
Take part in a magical celebration of art and artists at Lux’s annual gala, Lux After Dark. Proceeds support the organization’s mission of bringing national and international artists to our community, providing art enrichment programs for our schools, and connecting kids, teens, and adults with the artist inside everyone. This year’s theme is “Glow in the Dark,” and the event will feature glow-in-the-dark cocktails, decor, and games. Chef Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grille will preparing the food for the night, and Living Vines will provide music and entertainment. This year’s guest of honor is Lux Season 9 Resident Artist, Margaret Griffith. The evening will feature the unveiling of Griffith’s residency project realized at Lux and a site-specific installation in the Education Pavilion, paired with specialty drinks, activated studios, live music, and more. Today, Lux Art Institute represents one of the most ambitious artist residencies for contemporary artists in the country. The Lux program invites national and international artists once they have reached a point of maturity in their career to be able to produce a work of art from start to finish on site and before the public. Simultaneously, the Lux team team builds educational programs that keenly interpret these practices for over 15,000 youth and adult students annually through outreach and on site programs in the Education Pavilion. luxartinstitute.org/events/lux-after-dark/
