King’s Day Festival

The Dutch community in San Diego County is once again turning The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe orange to celebrate King’s Day, a Dutch national heritage, celebrating the Dutch king’s birthday.

Each year, Dutch and Indo Dutch people in the Netherlands and abroad commemorate the birthday of King Willem Alexander with a full day of music, food, and fun. No wooden shoes required, but visitors are welcome to take on the orange.

This free family event will include Dutch DJ spinning music from Dutch traditional to modern favorites, a variety of Dutch traditional foods including bitterballen (rolled croquettes), frietjes (french fries with sauces),frikandellen, poffertjes, and more; beverages including Dutch and Belgian beers and Dutch-style gin; fun activities for the kids including a bouncy castle, arts & crafts, and Dutch party games hosted by the Dutch School of Southern California; and a silent auction and opportunity drawing to benefit the Dutch School.
