The Academy, previously known as The Gifted Preschool, became part of the Bright Horizons family in 2010. This private preschool in Encinitas focuses on a highly academic environment providing children with multiple opportunities for interactive and educational programs. Some of these programs include the “Fibonacci room,” a hands-on science exploratorium, an independent art studio, the Handwriting Without Tears writing program, everyday math activities, and individualized reading instruction.

The Academy at Bright Horizons is looking forward to its new Jr. Kindergarten program for the 2012-13 school year. The Jr. Kindergarten program will provide a structured and accelerated program to prepare children for their first year of school by credentialed teachers. It offers small class sizes with a 12-1 student to teacher ratio from 9am-3pm Monday through Friday. It is taught by a loving, experienced, and enthusiastic team of teachers each providing specialized instruction in language arts, science, math, and art.
