Jake’s Del Mar’s 34th annual Beach Fun Run presents an afternoon of exercise, sunshine, refreshments, and entertainment. Each year, through the Jake’s Legacy of Aloha program, event proceeds are donated to the Del Mar lifeguards, now known as Friends of the Power House, and their commitment to help ensure that the next generation respects and cares for our beaches and ocean. Last year’s event added another beneficiary, La Colonia, a branch of the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito. Based in Solana Beach, La Colonia serves 100+ elementary school kids and teens each week, giving them a place to learn and grow after school and throughout the summer. The Beach Fun Run is a relaxed 5k run/walk that takes place on the beach in front of Jake’s. Each participant receives a T-shirt, healthy buffet lunch, beverages, entertainment, and tickets for the opportunity drawing after the race. jakesdelmar.com/fun-run
