Don Diego’s Huey Lewis & The News Gala

Don Diego’s signature annual fundraiser takes place on July 1 to support college scholarships and grants for agricultural education. Arrive at the San Diego County Fair early to enjoy the festivities before the gala kicks off at the Fairgrounds’ famed Turf Club at 4:30pm with cocktails — including the Fair’s Toast of the Coast wine competition winners — and a gourmet dinner. Meet the 2014 scholarship recipients and participate in silent and live auctions before rocking out to Huey Lewis & The News. Then, opt to live the experience forever with a brick permanently enshrined at the Don Diego Legacy Fountain in the Fairgrounds’ Plaza de Mexico. Don Diego executive director Chana Mannen says, “The year-round Legacy Brick program presents a priceless opportunity, especially during the Fair and ensuing Del Mar Thoroughbred racing seasons.
