Heavenly Homes
This month we showcase the stunning speaces that caught our eye in several home design categories, from Historic Home, to Zen Retreat, Eclectic to Tuscan.
Zen Retreat — Stephanie Parisi of Maison Soleil, who originally designed this home several years ago, was recently called upon to remodel and create a major update of this coastal contemporary home. As the home is owned by local art collectors, the new design creates a colorful and comfortable backdrop for the clients’ art and sculpture collection with new layered textures and colors of furnishings, accessories, pillows, and florals. Classic Elegance — This Fairbanks Ranch home represents a fresh look at elegance, from the massive entry great room with polished marble to the custom wood study. The master suite houses elegant baths with heated floors. The courmet kitchen offers the latest technology and striking architectural lines. A pool and spa, outside fireplace, and cookery are just steps to the game room, gym, and guesthouse. For more info contact Jason Barry. (www.barryestates.com)
Eclectic — This living room is an unexpected blend of distinctive pieces of clean contemporary, rustic, and old world furnishings, bringing crisp cream linens and touches of blue throughout the space that expand the boundaries of elegant design. The room is designed by Maria Barry, ASID and Sandy Garrett, ASID of Le Dimora. (www.ledimora.com)
Historic Home — This Rancho Santa Fe adobe hacienda features elements from two historic missions — one from Taos, the other from Las Cruces, New Mexico — joined together in the 1930s to construct the luxury home of silent film star Corinne Griffith, “The Orchid Lady of the Screen.” The home offers panoramic views from nearly every room, hand-laid wooden floors, and handcrafted doors and shutters. Carefully restored by subsequent owners, it retains its original charm with stained glass skylights, handcarved details by renowned artist David Frisk, and shepherd’s lofts. Resort Living — This resort-style home in Rancho Valencia boasts cutting-edge “chic,” award-winning design by Ray Rippy, and an entertainer’s backyard that you’d never want to leave — think infinity-edge pool, sound throughout, an outdoor kitchen, and more. The home encompasses five bedroom suites, a theater, conference room, library, media room, you name it. For more info please contact Laura Barry. (www.laurabarryluxuryestates.com)
Tuscan — This home was inspired by the Tuscan sun. Making the most of the California lifestyle indoors and out is captured here in this seamless transition to both.
