MCASD In Vegas

Travel to Las Vegas to find a slice of La Jolla and downtown San Diego. Classic Contemporary: Lichtenstein, Warhol & Friends is on view in the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art through September 8. This rather small but perfect exhibition is the result of a partnership between the Bellagio and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD). The premier art on exhibit is from MCASD’s collection, with audio narration by Hugh Davies, the David C. Copley Director of MCASD. Among the wonderful art to be seen are pieces by Clyfford Still, Hans Hofmann, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Claus Oldenburg, Frank Stella, Ed Ruscha, and Sol LeWitt. The Red Blue Green oil on canvas of Ellsworth Kelly, seen previously at MCASD, is stunning and remains a powerful work of art.
