Art Alive 2013

Published

For the 32nd annual Art Alive, the San Diego Museum of Art will once again fill the galleries with exquisite floral interpretations of the permanent collection, and the rotunda will be transformed into a breathtaking floral experience, this year by Bella Meyer, granddaughter of artist Marc Chagall and founder and creative director of Fleurs Bella in New York City. As the museum’s signature fundraiser and a San Diego tradition, Art Alive 2013 will include three full days of activities and celebrations April 26-28. In addition to viewing the exhibition during museum hours, visitors can attend the Opening Celebration on April 26, from 7-11pm; as well as the Flowers After Hours Opening Celebration After Party that same evening from 9:30pm-1am. This year, Flowers After Hours becomes the swanky after-bash of the Art Alive Opening Celebration for San Diego’s late-night bloomers. Enjoy hosted bites and cocktails, live entertainment, hands-on activities, and other floral fun. (619.696.1999, www.thesandiegomuseumofart.org)    JANE SHIOMI
