Monte Carlo Jet Set

Published

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will present Monte Carlo Jet Set, the museum’s 38th annual benefit fundraiser, on Saturday, September 6, at its La Jolla location. John and Natasha Ippolito are the chairs of this year’s gala, which begins with a cocktail reception in “New York City.” Grand Central Station, Lower East Side, Chinatown, and South Street Seaport will all be represented in the cuisine served during the cocktail hour. Local jazz ensemble Westside Inflection will provide classic ‘big band’ vibes. Guests will then enjoy an authentic Italian meal al fresco presented by chef Giuseppe Ciuffa of Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering. Dinner will be accompanied by a haute couture Lanvin fashion showcase. At the After Party, guests can imbibe Champagne and dessert in “Paris,” smoke cigars and enjoy Macallan Scotch tasting in “South Beach,” roll the dice charity gambling in “Monte Carlo,” sip cocktails in “Brazil,” and observe the inhabitants of “Amsterdam’s” sultry red light district. The festivities will end with a ball drop in “Times Square” at midnight. Proceeds support MCASD’s education programs and exhibitions. (montecarlo@mcasd.org, www.mcasd.org)
