Show Stoppers

More is More, an exhibit of bold bling by Hollywood design legends Tony Duquette and Hutton Wilkinson, opens October 10 at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Carlsbad. The design duo, known for extravagant, show-stopping pieces, drew inspiration from their work as costume and set designers in Hollywood’s Golden Age. Clients included the Duchess of Windsor, Doris Duke and J. Paul Getty. On view through March 2014, the exhibit features 50 creations, many on loan from personal collections, showcasing unusual gems paired with rare materials. (800.421.7250, www.gia.edu)
