The Del Mar Thorough-bred Club’s 77th summer gathering is off and running Friday, July 15, through Labor Day, Monday, September 5. Opening Day welcomes the return of the celebrated Opening Day Hats Contest, helmed by Deena Von Yokes of Studio Savvy and Joe Cuviello, featuring more than $5,000 in prizes awarded in categories including: Most Glamorous, Best Racing Theme, Funniest/Most Outrageous, Best Fascinator, and more. delmarscene.com
Ranch & Coast is teaming up with The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe for Hats, Heels, and Hooves, an Opening Day after-party on Friday, July 15. The Inn’s Azalea Lawn, ballroom, and pool area will transform into an authentic Kentucky thoroughbred farm for a memorable evening of fine food, spirits, and live entertainment by Sure Fire Soul Ensemble and DJ Scotto. General admission tickets will include a buffet dinner from 6-8pm, a welcome cocktail, and access to the party. VIP admission features an exclusive VIP dinner menu with a caviar bar, bottle service including one bottle of Belvedere Vodka and one bottle of Moët & Chandon, and a designated server.
