“Welcome to my garden,” exclaimed Daniel Wingate, the fashion director of the German luxury label Escada, at a recent fall style show at Fashion Valley’s Neiman Marcus. Fresh from Munich, Wingate showed off fashions on a runway of faux green grass. “Green,” he told the audience, “is the new black.” The green, rather than red, carpet was also a fitting way to highlight hyacinth floral-printed dresses and pencil skirts, jackets, and knitted cardigans inspired by trellis details, and a clean white jacket dress. Leopard prints paired with black leather and cozy cashmere knitwear in shades of caramel and camel were also standouts. The finale included an embroidered organza gown in garnet red and a show-stopping slim black column dress glittering with sequins. (619.692.9100, www.escada.com)
