Capture The Action

Published

Ricoh’s new WG-M1 is going after the first-person action camera niche with some serious upgrades sure to woo even the most devout GoPro fans. Outside of its various colored shells (debuting in orange and black models in time for Halloween), the camera shoots full HD video at 1080p with a 160-degree wide-angle lens, including 14-megapixel stills, comes with built-in Wi-Fi to allow image transfers to phones and tablets, is shock resistant up to falls of 6 feet, employs anti-shake software, and is waterproof down to 32 feet. Unlike much of the competition, one of the nicest specs is the top-down color LCD display allowing videographers to see what they’re getting on film. The camera hits shelves all over the country this month for $300. (www.us.ricoh-imaging.com)   RYAN THOMAS
