Youth Empowerment’s first-ever fundraising event presented by Aetna/CVS, titled H.E.A.L. 2022: From Trauma to Triumph, will introduce the Transforming Trauma Campaign and features keynote speaker Chef Jeff Henderson.

The goal of the Transforming Trauma Campaign is to train organizations and individuals who work with traumatized populations to utilize the Trauma-Informed Care Code of Conduct during all interactions with this vulnerable population. Chef Henderson is an award-winning chef, bestselling author, and dynamic inspirational public speaker. He is also a former gang member and an ex-offender, having served nearly a decade in prison. Since his release and personal transformation, Henderson became the executive chef at the renowned Café Bellagio and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, becoming one of the most inspirational African-American chefs in the country. His two bestselling books are Cooked: My Journey From the Streets to the Stove and If You Can See It, You Can Be It.

Youth Empowerment Founder/CEO Arthur Soriano says, “Come support Youth Empowerment, these wonderful friends and community leaders and our Transforming Trauma Campaign.” The evening also features hearty hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, opportunity prizes, youth stories, a live pledge drive, and dancing to DJ Nosajj. Special H.E.A.L. awards will be given to Dorothy Thrush (Empowerment), Mario Villadolid (Advocacy), and Jason Druxman (Leadership).
