Free Nutrition And Cancer Workshop

Local cancer patients and survivors can learn about the connection between diet and cancer at a free workshop at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:30-8pm. The Nutrition and Cancer workshop is co-hosted by Scripps Cancer Center and Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine. The workshop will provide information on the role nutrition can play in the treatment and recovery phases of cancer. Myths and facts about supplements will also be discussed. The workshop is open to patients, survivors, and family, regardless of where care was provided. Cathy Garvey, a registered dietitian with Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, will lead the session. Registration is required for this workshop, and the cost for parking is $3. The workshop will take place in the conference room of Scripps Cancer Center at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, in the Anderson Outpatient Pavilion, located at 10666 North Torrey Pines Road. (858/554-8533, www.scripps.org/cancer)
