Tower Of Flowers

Remco van Vliet, floral and event designer of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, will give a floral demonstration and presentation followed by an elegant garden tea on March 7, at 1:30pm, at MCASD’s La Jolla location. Recognized for creating the stunning “Towers of Flowers” that greet nearly 6 million visitors a year at the Met, van Vliet designs five 10-12-foot tall arrangements each week for the Great Hall as well as towering arrangements of up to 20-feet high for the many events held in the venue. Tickets for this singular event are $65. Event sponsors ($300) will enjoy a private Friday, March 8 event at the Athenaeum, at which Remco will create a special museum-size arrangement. The event will include a tour of the museum and an elegant catered luncheon. The price also includes the Thursday lecture, VIP seating, and garden tea. Co-chairs are Ann Craig and Nan Kaufman.
