Park Hyatt Aviara Resort will come alive with holiday cheer with exclusive offerings in honor of the 12 Days of Christmas. Commencing on 12/12/12, guests will enjoy “12 Days of Gifts” with daily giveaways and surprises that will make everyone in the family feel like a kid waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve.
From December 12-24, all guests and visiting locals* will be entered into Park Hyatt Aviara Resort’s nightly giveaway of special presents. Each day brings a new opportunity to win prizes such as complimentary treatments at the award-winning Aviara Spa, rounds of golf on the Arnold Palmer championship course, cooking classes with resort’s culinary team, Pranzo brunches at Vivace, and much more. Gingerbread Decorating Classes
From December 1-21, the resort will offer hands-on gingerbread-decorating classes for all ages. Classes are taught by executive pastry chef Franck Riffaud, Park Hyatt Aviara’s own “Gingerbread Man,” who leads an engaging step-by-step tutorial on the art of gingerbread making and decorating. This year the resort will offer separate classes for adults and kids; adult classes will offer more advanced baking and icing techniques while youth classes will focus on creative gingerbread house decorating.
Adult classes (ages 13 years and up) will be held on December 1, 8, and 15, from 2-5pm and are priced at $60 per person. Children’s classes (ages 6-12 years) will be held on December 17, 19, and 21, from 3-4:30pm and are priced at $40 per child. Pricing includes all materials. Christmas Eve & Day Dinner at Vivace
On December 24 and December 25, Vivace is serving a special four-course dinner created by chef de cuisine Jesse Paul. Menu highlights include Ravioli al Sugo di Astice (Beef Cheek Ravioli, Lobster-Parsnip Ragu, Beef Sugo) and Rombo in Salsa di Scorzonera e Ostriche (Turbot, Roasted Salsify, Sunchoke Puree, Luna Oysters and Sea Bean Ragu). Christmas Eve Seafood Buffet at California Bistro
California Bistro’s famed Seafood Buffet will be open on Christmas Eve from 5:30-9pm, featuring Fresh-Shucked Oysters, Lemon Wedge, Mignonette; Oysters Rockefeller Gratiné; Live Maine Lobster, Drawn Butter and Local Citrus Beurre Blanc; and Loch Duart Salmon, Borscht Sauce, Braised Endive, Walnut Crumble. Price per person is $78.
Christmas Day Brunch at California Bistro
On December 25, California Bistro will offer a variety of offerings for brunch from 10:30am-5pm. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood including Oysters, Alaskan King Crab Legs and Crab Claws, as well as Nutella and Banana Stuffed French Toast, Vanilla Crème Anglaise; Lobster Thermidor, Roasted Cauliflower, Shaved Fennel, Tarragon Beurre Blanc; Spiced Apple Brined Prime Rib, Au Jus, Creamy Horseradish and more. Gingerbread Mountain Village
Park Hyatt Aviara’s Gingerbread Mountain Village has become one of the must-see attractions in Carlsbad during the holidays. Using more than 300 pounds of gingerbread dough, 400 pounds of sugar icing and 18 pounds of chocolate, the village is complete with Santa’s Workshop, Frosty’s Ski-Daddle Ski School, Snow Tube Rental, and Blitzen’s Ale and Spirits. Gingerbread Mountain Village will be on display in the Lobby from November 26 through December 26.
Festival of Trees
In the true spirit of giving this holiday season, Park Hyatt Aviara will hold a silent auction of professionally decorated trees, with all proceeds benefiting the Semper Fi Injured Marine Fund. The auction will be open for bids from November 28 through December 28 in the Lobby.
Park Hyatt Aviara will observe the Festival of Lights with a traditional menorah lighting. A menorah will be placed in the Library at sundown on December 8th and will remain on display until the close of the holiday on December 16.
Specialty Winter Cocktails & Holiday Beverage Station
From November 26 through January 1, Park Hyatt Aviara will serve specialty winter cocktails, including mulled wine; cider; and holiday-themed elixirs at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge and Argyle Steakhouse. Complimentary hot chocolate and apple cider will be available for guests in the main Lobby.
From December 19-24, guests can enjoy complimentary roasted chestnuts fresh from a cast iron pan. Available on the Front Drive from 5-10pm.
