Junior League of San Diego’s Food & Wine Festival
Enjoy bites, wines, beer, and cocktails at the Junior League of San Diego’s 14th annual Food & Wine Festival to raise crucial funds for JLSD’s mission-based programs that support transition-aged foster youth and train members to be strong community leaders.
The outdoor dining experience features more than 50 of San Diego’s best restaurants including Herringbone, Oceanaire, Puesto, and Truluck’s, as well as renowned beverage purveyors such as Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits, Abnormal Wine Company, and Deep Eddy Vodka. The event is set in La Jolla Cove with panoramic oceanfront views, and unlimited tastings of exquisite bites, flavorful wines, top craft beer, and handcrafted cocktails.
Held on Saturday, May 3, at Ellen Scripps Browning Park at La Jolla Cove, from 1-5pm, the event’s theme is “A Kentucky Derby Affair,” with a live viewing of the Run for the Roses. Attendees will have the opportunity to win fabulous prizes with a “win, place and show” drawing, and costume contests for best hat, best dressed couple, and more. In addition to live music on the main stage, there will be a wine toss competition and a silent auction facilitated by master of ceremonies Frankie V of “Frankie and Geena Mornings” on Channel 933.
“Our Food and Wine Festival is a treasure for so many reasons,” says Alison Bushan, president of JLSD. “Yes, it’s a great time, but it’s also incredibly moving to see hundreds of people so moved by our mission and willing to donate their time, money, and talents to help us create lasting change for local transition-age foster youth.”
General admission tickets are $85 and VIP tickets, which include access to a VIP lounge stocked with specialty samples and valet parking, are $140. (www.jlsdfoodandwine.com)
