Travel Under The Sea
Scheduled to be on view at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center IMAX Dome Theater through spring 2010, Under The Sea transports moviegoers to some of the most exotic and isolated undersea locations on Earth, including South Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Coral Triangle islands of Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Viewers experience face-to-face encounters with some of the most mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea. The film is narrated by Jim Carrey and directed by Del Mar resident Howard Hall, who notes, “We hope people will come to know and love these animals when they experience their world through the extraordinary image quality of IMAX. Most people will not have heard of these creatures. But once people get to know them and then learn that global warming and ocean acidification may be damaging their environment, we think they’ll start to care. Making people care is our mission.” (619/238-1233, www.rhfleet.org) JANE SHIOMI
