Spring Arts & Crafts Fair

Published

May 12-13, spend Mother’s Day weekend at Bernardo Winery’s Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Fair. More than 100 artisans in Southern California will be on the winery grounds for the entire weekend. Shop for unique gift offerings and enjoy live music, a wine and beer garden, wine and chocolate pairings, lush gardens, and a multi-ethnic food court. Originally part of the Rancho La Cañada de San Bernardo Spanish Land Grant, the Bernardo Winery was purchased and planted in 1889 by a group of five Sicilian farmers, vintners, and businessmen. The 500+ acres of grapes and olive trees covered much of the rolling hillsides of what would eventually become the town of Rancho Bernardo. In 1927, Vincent Rizzo purchased the winery, after discovering it on a hunting trip in North County, San Diego, and thus began a family business that has spanned three generations and withstood the test of time.
