Cygnets Smash-Hits

Cygnet Theatre is nicely settled in its new and recently refurbished home in Old Town San Diego. As usual, this vibrant company has programmed a varied 2009-2010 season. If you still haven’t seen the opening and riotous Michael Frayn piece, Noises Off, fear not, as this production has been extended until September 6. While Noises is entertaining, Man from Nebraska, which starts previews on September 24 and runs through November, is challenging. Described as “wickedly funny and spiritually complex,” it carries the warning of adult language and themes. Next up is the timeless classic, It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, which is a reprise of a very popular previous (three years running) Cygnet production.
