Champions of Scouting Celebration

The San Diego-Imperial Council of Scouting America will pay tribute to Ronne Froman-Blue and Linden Blue at its annual Champions of Scouting Celebration.

The event honors San Diego leaders who support and embody the values of Scouting and recognize the positive impacts resulting from its youth leadership and community service programs. As Commander of the United States Navy Region Southwest, Froman-Blue was San Diego’s first female “Navy Mayor.” After a distinguished 31-year career in the Navy, she retired in 2001 with the rank of Rear Admiral. Following her military service, she served as the Chief of Business Operations for the San Diego Unified School District, Chief Executive Officer for the local chapter of the American Red Cross, and as the City of San Diego’s first Chief Operating Officer. Blue is the Vice Chairman of General Atomics. In 2009, he was inducted into San Diego’s Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, and in 2010 the Industrial Research Institute presented him with the IRI Achievement Award and he was inducted into the International Air and Space Hall of Fame at the San Diego Air & Space Museum.
