Luau & Legends of Surfing Invitational will “CrowdSurf for a Cure” at this year’s virtual event

Surfers, scientists, and survivors will come together to support the fight against cancer at the 27th annual Luau and Legends of Surfing Invitational. Instead of surfing the waves, participants are invited to surf the web as they “CrowdSurf for a Cure,” raising money for research, education, and clinical care at Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health. Donors can make charitable contributions to support different luau teams. This year’s Rell Sun Award will be presented to physician-scientist Catriona Jamieson, MD, PhD and co-founder and executive chairman of Endeavor Biomedicines Jon Hood, PhD. The featured artist is Southern California surfer Andy Davis. Since its inception in 1993, the event has raised nearly $10 million.
